External Affairs Consultant

Brookwoods Group is working with a global Oil and Gas corporation to fill a long-term consultant roll. As the Retail External Affairs Consultant you will be responsible for developing and strengthening our client's retail reputation through external affairs opportunities. The selected candidate will be the liaison for public relations activities supporting marketing programs, crisis management, media relations, stakeholder engagement and other external activities.

The right person should be experienced managing external affairs, external agency staff and internal stakeholders. The role is both strategic and tactical and requires strong time management skills, multi-tasking and diplomatic communication.


  1. Must have a bachelor's degree in communication, marketing or related field
  2. Must have 7+ years' experience in strategic communication including events
  3. Must have exceptional written, presentation, verbal and networking skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships, positively influence business activities inside and outside the company
  4. Must have experience working in a layered environment managing complex projects, managing/shifting priorities and expectations, as well as working under tight deadlines with many moving elements
  5. Must have marketing experience with regard to customer reward and loyalty programs
  6. Must have exceptional PowerPoint and SharePoint skills
  7. Must have managed external vendors and agencies

Preferred but not required:

  • Oil and gas experience
  • Retail experience
  • Advanced degree
