Boiler Engineer Operator/Stationary Engineer

Brookwoods Group is partnering with privately owned, state-of-the-art commercial laundry catering to healthcare organizations with both rental systems and customer-owned goods programs. Our client is currently processing over 21 million pounds of laundry annually and takes pride in delivering high-quality service.

They have an excellent opportunity for a Licensed 1st Grade Boiler Operator/Stationary Engineer to join their growing maintenance team. In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring our client’s production equipment operates smoothly with no downtime. You will also perform timely preventative maintenance on production equipment to maintain efficiency and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines. This involves following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications, and troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Identify sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for issues, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Remove defective parts by dismantling devices, using hand and power tools, and examining parts for form and texture.
  • Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts with rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  • Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
  • Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory levels, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt.
  • Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Prepare mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and establishing personal networks.
  • Ensure continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.

 MUST HAVE WITHOUT EXCEPTION:

  1. Licensed 1st Grade Boiler Operator/Stationary Engineer certification.
  2. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Experience with preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment.
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  6. Proficiency with precision measuring and testing instruments.
