Maintenance Engineer - Jr. Level

Brookwoods Group is partnering with privately owned, state-of-the-art commercial laundry catering to healthcare organizations with both rental systems and customer-owned goods programs. Our client is currently processing over 21 million pounds of laundry annually.

They are looking to hire an Equipment Mechanic to join their growing maintenance team. In this role, you will ensure their production equipment runs smoothly and perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.  You should be eager to learn and able to take direction well.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete preventive maintenance as instructed on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines by following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hand and power tools, and examining parts for form and texture.
  • Inspect used parts and measure dimensions using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  • Inform production workers about routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitor compliance to control downtime.
  • Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
  • Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations.

MUST HAVE WITHOUT EXCEPTION:

  1. Must have experience with preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment
  2. Must have experience repairing motors, troubleshooting mechanical problems
  3. Must be proficient with precision measuring and testing instruments
  4. Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  5. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
