Brookwoods Group is working with a Global Chemical Client to place a Media Relations Advisor. The Media Relations Advisor will play a pivotal role in shaping and amplifying our company’s voice across both trade and financial media landscapes. As a member of the Corporate Communications team, they will work closely with internal stakeholders across departments to execute strategic communication plans that drive positive brand awareness, secure impactful publicity and ultimately support our key business objectives.
If you have built relationships with journalists and editors and have played a key role in your past liaising with the media, our client needs your expertise. The ideal candidates will be able to translate KPI's into target outcomes in the media, financial and executive communication space. Our client is ready to start someone who is proactive, thinks ahead and anticipates the needs of clients/stakeholders and management. This is a contract position working a Hybrid schedule.
MUST HAVE WITHOUT EXCEPTION:
- Must have a bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, business, marketing, public relations or related field
- Must have eight (8) years of experience working in a similar Media Relations role
- Must have experience working for a large global public company
- Must have experience in the petrochemical, oil and gas or energy sector. As an alternative, job applicants must have experience working in a professional service environment (legal, accounting or marketing/public relations agencies)
- Must have superior mastery of the English language, both written and oral, with a strong emphasis on written - samples required
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, in particular, Word, PowerPoint and working knowledge of Excel
- Must be familiar with Cision and/or other media and content databases

- This is a full-time position as our employee working under contract at our client's location in Downtown Houston - Hybrid role
- Compensation includes salary and benefits and is dependent on your experience
