Advisor, External Affairs - LaPorte, TX

Brookwoods Group is partnering with a leading Chemical Manufacturing Company to find an Advisor, External Affairs for the Houston Ship Channel. This direct hire position is based at the company's LaPorte, TX location and plays a crucial role in supporting external communications, community affairs, media relations, social performance, and social investments.

MUST HAVE WITHOUT EXCEPTION

1. Must have a bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations or related field
2. Must have 4+ years of working experience as a communications professional in external affairs or public relations
3. Must have experience with crisis communication
4. Must have effective communication skills across multiple formats and platforms (e.g., written, verbal/presentation, digital-ready content and internal/executive communications
5. Must strong AP style writing experience – samples required
6. Mastery of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Teams)

PREFERRED

• Experience in the Petro-chemical industry.
• Bi-Lingual – Spanish as a 2^nd language
• Knowledge of Incident Command Systems – NIMS certifications
